DIMENSIONS: 5 cm (1.96 in.) long
DESCRIPTION: Intact. A good example of a Roman bronze P-Shape brooch. The form is simple, with a coiled spring at the head, the pin (original) catching in a sheath at the foot of the brooch, the sheath then narrowing to a single coil of metal twisted twice around the lower part of the broad bow. The bow itself is narrow and undecorated. Dark green patina with earthen highlighting.
PROVENANCE: Oxfordshire, UK metal detecting find, declared not treasure and legally exported.
