Two Hellenistic Miniature Ceramic Oil Lamps

2nd – 1st Century BCE DIMENSIONS: 4.3 cm (1.7 in.) long for the first, 5.4 cm (2.1 in.) long for the second.
DESCRIPTION: Intact. Two mould-made miniature Hellenistic ceramic oil lamps,
one of typical late Hellenistic form, made from light brown clay with burn marks at the wick hole, the shoulder divided into
eight slightly raised segments by impressed bands, the other lamp of fine grained pinkish clay with much of a brick red slip
remaining, burn marks at the wick hole, with side lug and slightly raised disk foot, a two step raised rim around central
filler hole.. Both lamps made for funerary use.
